The stakes are high. Here's how you can help.

There is plenty you can do. By now, you've heard that the FDA could potentially restrict access to compounded hormones.

We need every pharmacist, every prescriber, every patient whose lives have been made better by compounded hormones to add their voice to the chorus demanding continued access to this essential medical therapy.

Below is a step-by-step guide on how you can support this important campaign.

1. UNDERSTAND THE ISSUE

New restrictions could be devastating the health of our patients. Not to mention our industry. If you are aware of the issue, but unclear on the details, here are a few important sources to read:

The NASEM cBHT report. Yes, it’s deeply flawed and rife with bias, but to understand what’s at stake, an important read.

A recently issued APC news release with essential background on the NASEM cBHT report.

The Berkeley Research Group analysis of the NASEM report, funded by the Pharmacy Compounding Foundation. It details at length the bias, the conflicts of interest and other failings of the NASEM report and the process the FDA used in arriving at the recommendations they wanted from the beginning.

The law firm of Reed-Smith wrote a comment letter to the FDA based on results of the firm’s FOIA request. This is a compelling and must-read document to understand the FDA’s intent.

2. TOOLS OF ENGAGEMENT

We've created several tools to help you engage your patients and prescribers.

  • Posters
  • Rack Cards
  • Door Clings

3. ENGAGE WITH YOUR PRESCRIBERS

We need every prescriber who understands the value of compounded hormones to also join our effort. Encourage them to contribute to our media campaign.

Encourage them to also visit compounding.com/mystory and share their experiences prescribing compounded hormones.

To make this easier we've created additional downloadable resources.

4. SPREAD THE MESSAGE

Engage on social media. Share intel.

We are engaging every influencer who has a vested interest in this issue to help spread the word. If you or a patient or prescriber that you work with have a strong social media presence, or a podcast or any other platform that could be useful to this effort - and would be willing to share cBHT media campaign messaging - let us know.

Email us at info@a4pc.org.

5. FINANCIAL SUPPORT

APC must raise $1.5 million this year to support the launch and media support of this campaign. This issue is a threat to the existence of our industry, and we need your support. Thank you to the many pharmacists and APC partners who have already donated to get us to where we are today. We need your help, so please consider investing - any amount helps and is appreciated.
